Monday, April 22nd is Earth Day.  Each year, the 22nd of April marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement, which started in 1970.  We still have a long way to go to reverse the impact of pollution and environmental disregard that the human race has shown over past centuries, but if everyone does their part, the result could be a healthier planet, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.

Did you know that 25% of cancer-fighting organisms are found in the forests of the Amazon?1 Or that there are more than 121 plants and trees growing in rainforests that can be used for medicinal purposes?1  It is estimated that within the next 100 years there will be no rainforests.1

To do our part, Sovereign Silver is partnering with OneTreePlanted.org.  For every bottle of Sovereign Silver purchased in the month of April, One Tree Planted will plant a tree.  By purchasing Sovereign Silver Bio-Active Silver Hydrosol™ or First Aid Gel Homeopathic Medicine in the month of April you are not only providing immune support or topical healing for your family,* but you are helping the environment as well.

One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization founded in Shelburne, Vermont.  They work with reforestation organizations around the world that need financial support and help them get more trees planted.  Their mission is “one dollar, one tree.”  They have helped plant trees in North America, South America, Asia and Africa.

How does planting a tree help our environment?  Consider this:  An average tree can produce enough oxygen in one year to keep a family of four breathing and by planting 20 million trees, we would supply the earth with 260 million more tons of oxygen and remove 10 million tons of CO2 in the air.2

Trees remove pollution from the atmosphere, which improves our air quality and our health.  Trees also help clean our drinking water by slowing and filtering rainwater and provide lower surface and air temperatures by providing shade.3  Plus, tree roots can stabilize soil and prevent erosion.4

Believe it or not, trees can actually decrease violence as well.  Neighborhoods and residential areas that are barren have shown to have a greater incidence of violence (both in the home and outside) than green neighborhoods.  Many people believe this is because trees help reduce the level of fear.  Trees also help give neighborhoods a strong identity and encourage civic pride.5

Together, we can make a positive change to our world, and further protect the health sovereignty that forests provide, just by planting a tree.  Please join us in helping One Tree Planted with their wonderful mission.
